The Mabel T. Frank Residential Development is located east of Josie Billie Highway and north of Halls Road and the RV Resort on the Big Cypress Reservation.
The 71-acre area is being developed to increase the available housing stock for the growing Seminole Tribe Community in Big Cypress. The new residential development will accommodate 49 single-family homes. Thirty-two (32) lots are 1/4 acre in size and designated as rentals. The remaining 17 lots are 1 ½ acres and are designated as homesite leases.
The single-family home buildings will range from approximately 2,100 square feet to 3,500 square feet. Tribal Members have a selection of Lennar home models to choose from. The project includes open space and a lake that helps meet the drainage needs of the development while improving the aesthetic appearance of the 17 single-family homes area. It also includes a playground and sidewalks in the rental community.
The 32 rental homes were completed in 2021. As of August 2022, eight (8) homes were completed and nine (9) are under construction.
