The Lakeland Residential Development property is approximately 792 acres and is located North of Old Polk City Road and East of Moore Road.
The parcel is being developed to increase the available housing stock for the Seminole Tribe within the Lakeland Community.
Phase one (1) of the overall development project included the construction of water, sewer, and other utility connections along roadways to serve the new development, and the construction of 46 single-family homes on one-acre lots within a gated community. Tribal Members had a choice of several Lennar single-family home models that ranged from approximately 2,100 square feet to 3,500 square feet in area. Phase 1 included the construction of a Gate House and Post Office Box facility to support the needs of the community. Construction of the new Single Family Homes in Phase 1 started in September 2020, and the last home in this phase was completed in 2022.
Phase Two (2) of the development will consist of 26 single-family homesites of which 20 will be rental homes and 5 will be member homes, and one homesite to be utilized for the Seminole Police Department. Construction of the infrastructure began in 2021 and home construction started in August 2022 and is expected to be complete in the summer of 2023.
Phase Three (3) of the community is under design and construction of the infrastructure is expected to start in early 2023 with home construction to begin later that year.
